In addition, given that this is a very competitive segment, content marketing allows these professionals or their firms to stand out in terms of search performance, while also enabling them to create content that these candidates would like to engage with. Social media as a platform also functions as a microsite or a portfolio for job-seeking – this gives companies or recruiters the opportunity to build an ongoing relationship with potential candidates.
Employer Branding & It’s Importance
With information readily available on the internet, a quick Google search can reveal a lot about a company or firm – their background, their values, their brand ethos, and more importantly, their reputation. Reviews are abundant on every social media platform, and even something as minuscule as one negative comment can make all the difference. That is why recruiters today are adhering to a very important practice before they begin their recruitment process – pushing their brand or firm’s branding in a favourable direction so as to appeal to potential candidates.

Another concept that is gaining popularity in this industry, is the use of virtual reality (VR) in the hiring process. VR is a great tool to harness and utilise if the job requires a more thorough and in-depth assessment of the candidate’s skills and capabilities – recruiters can gauge how a candidate performs under specific scenarios and situations.
